Policy/Rules
A. GENERAL RULES
1. At the entrance to the library, F.U. ID card must be shown.
2. Behaviors that disturb other users should be avoided and loud talking should not be allowed in the library.
3. When entering the library, the mobile phone should be turned off or put in silent mode, and should not be used inside.
4. No food or drink other than bottled water should be brought into the library. Absolutely no smoking.
5. Our library is not responsible for the lost belongings of the users in the library.
6. In order to ensure the order of the shelves, the resources taken from the shelf should be left on the work desks after they are used, and they should be placed in their places by the responsible personnel.
7. The security of our libraries collection is protected by an electronic security system. Library material that has not been borrowed should not be taken out, otherwise it will be stolen and legal action will be taken.
8. Library materials should be used with care.
9. Rules regarding the conditions of using the library are carried out by the Library and Documentation Department.
USER RESPONSIBILITIES
1. All responsibility of the borrowed material belongs to the user.
2.F.U. ID cards cannot be used in lending transactions by persons other than the owner.
3. For technical or other reasons, the library cannot be held responsible if the library cannot remind the return date of the materials via e-mail. It is the user's responsibility to return borrowed items on time.
4. The responsibility for the loss or damage of the borrowed material belongs to the user.
5. Users must notify the library of their valid e-mail address. The library is not responsible for undelivered mail.
6. If the delay penalty note is not received by the user for any reason, it is not a valid reason for not paying the delay penalty.
7. Users who do not return the borrowed material on time, damage the library materials, do not pay for the lost or damaged material, and do not comply with other library rules will lose their right to borrow material. The user who solves all these problems arising from himself regains his borrowing rights.
B. COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT AND PUBLICATION POLICY
It is the provision of printed and electronic publications through purchasing, subscription, donation and exchange in order to support the education and training at the university, to assist the research activities, and to meet the social and cultural needs of the users.
Collection development in the library of Fırat University is carried out in line with the wishes of the members of Fırat University and the selection of expert personnel.
The publication is decided by the Department within the framework of the collection development policy and the budget.
Donation Policy
a) Donations and publications are accepted in order to support the education at the university, to contribute to research and to improve the collection.
b) Persons and institutions wishing to donate must fill in the Donation Publication Contract Form and the Donation Book List and submit it to the Department.
c) Outdated manuscripts and rare printed works in the collection to be donated will not be accepted.
d) Materials to be included in the collection; It can be selected from sources that are not in the library collection, or it can be taken as a duplicate, depending on the nature of the source and the frequency of use, although it is in the library.
e) The publication date of materials other than Social Sciences should not be older than the last 5 years and the continuity of periodic publications should be ensured.
f) Personal collections cannot be evaluated under the name of "Special Collection".
g) In order for periodicals to be accepted as donations, the beginning or continuation of the collection must be in the library.
h) Magazine, encyclopedia etc. Multi-volume works are accepted if they form the integrity of the volume.
i) Sources that are unusably worn, missing pages, torn sources, photocopied sources are not included in the collection.
j) Not every donation received by mail is included in the collection.
k) Librarians decide whether the donated material should be included in the collection in the light of the specified points.
l) The publications that are determined to be suitable for the library collection are added to the collection by making technical procedures.
m) If the Department deems appropriate, it has the right to return the publications received as donations or donate them to another library.
C. INTER-LIBRARY LENDING (ILL) POLICY
a) Interlibrary loan publication / document supply service only covers university libraries.
b) Application works (dictionaries, encyclopedias, indexes, almanacs, annuals, atlases, etc.), periodicals, reserve resources, unpublished graduate and doctoral theses, manuscripts and rare printed works, maps and slides, CD-ROMs, video and tape cassettes etc. materials, reserved books, musical notes, collectibles, artistic materials, etc. by the Department
